I don't find anything odd about the reactions here and I think they are generally more healthy than siding with Oz because of his past.
Raven, meanwhile, as far as we've seen has never been betrayed by anyone that she actually trusted (IOW not Team CAME), so she has no such excuse for her attitude and actions. Considering he was literally in tears once Jinn stopped narrating it, it's clear it was because those aren't memories he wants to relive.Īnd of course, there's the other fact that Ozpin's been betrayed by close allies multiple times for centuries, which would cause trust issues no matter what. And those selfish reasons were trying to keep his past hidden. In fact, so far there's only been 1 time where Ozpin has lied for selfish reasons. A rather minor case of "End Justifies The Means", even if the means themselves can at times be outright stupid and unnecesary. Ozpin, for comparison, when he lies or keeps secrets, he does it because he thinks it's the best for everyone (mostly on the lines of "I don't want everyone to panic", which makes sense since Grimm love panic). She even put her own brother and daughter at risk just for the sake of a chance of getting the Relic, not even considering what would happen afterwards.
Raven doesn't just keep info from others, lie and manipulate.

The fact that Raven is also a hypocrite who keeps informations for herself, lies to and manipulate and sacrifice others to save her own skin also stands.
